In a post entitled “5 reasons brands should use email in 2016“, according to the author Jim Dougherty, most people still prefer to read emails. I actually had come to the conclusion that people tended not to read emails due to information overload so I read the article with interest. It appears that email marketing gets more click-throughs and open rates that other social media platforms which I found surprising.
I do agree that email is the most consistent communication platform which can be easily customised and most adult users retrieve their emails via their cellphones whether they are feature phones or smartphones rather than via their desktops or laptops.
So if you were thinking that email marketing is going to fall away in 2016, think again and starting working on those email marketing campaigns.
